Office Vacancy Information
Toshima-ku is the location of Ikebukuro, one of the four major downtown areas of Tokyo: Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ginza. Located in the northern part of Tokyo, the area is crowded with office workers commuting from Saitama Prefecture and shopping visitors. With the recent opening of the Fukutoshin Line, the flow of people has been increasing, and the area is attracting attention as an area that will continue to change and grow in the future.
Ikebukuro Station, the central station of Toshima Ward, has the second largest number of passengers in the world after Shinjuku Station. Around the station is Sunshine City, which plays a landmark role in Ikebukuro, the Metropolitan Plaza Building, a shopping complex with office buildings, and large department stores and restaurants such as Tobu Department Store, Seibu Department Store, and Marui, making it a thriving commercial area.
The district is conveniently served by two JR lines, four Tokyo Metro lines, a Toei line, and one each of the Tobu and Seibu lines. In addition to large office buildings, there is a wide variety of small and medium-sized office buildings in Sugamo, known as "Grandma's Harajuku," and in Mejiro, an upscale residential area. In addition, many prominent universities are located in Toshima Ward, creating a relaxed business environment.
